Had a wonderful time in West Virginia visiting with the Phelps, the Seigneurs and Sara Allen! Emma and I ended up spending an entire week (saturday to saturday) at Tim & Joanna's. It was lovely! Emma did pretty good, although we had some tough evenings. I'm not enjoying this new clingy stage she is going through... she doesn't last too long in other people's arms before she is ready for Mommy again. As much as I love that she knows that I am her Mommy and wants to be with me... I know that other people would like to hold her and play with her as well... so hopefully it does not last too long... although, I will be sad when Mommy is the last person she wants to be held by! :)
It is always so refreshing to be with our friends. No matter how much time passes by in between visits, we pick up as if we have never been apart. Chris & I always walk away encouraged and relaxed. We are SO blessed to have the people in our life that we do. Friends that have been with us through our darkest hours and with us when we rejoiced in the best of times. Not too many people could stand to have a friend and her 3 month old baby staying in there house for 7 days without getting annoyed. God is just so good to us!
It is nice to be home, though... as we both missed Daddy :) Now, it's just a matter of getting the house cleaned back up and getting caught back up on laundry and back into our regular routine.
While we were gone, Sarah doggy ate her leash ... she still hasn't pooped it out so we are praying that she passes it soon and that the pieces she swallowed (which was all of the pieces) were small enough that they will pass and not require veterinary assistance or surgery *sigh* So far she is acting fine so it's just a matter of waiting!
Emma Sue is in her crib in her own room for the first time tonight. I cried when I shut the door and left her in there all by herself. It's just another step away from newborn and towards "child." I'm such a mush.... I love seeing her experience new things (like purposely grabbing her pacifier and bringing to her mouth with her hands today), but I already miss my tiny little baby that has been replaced by a person with a personality! :) Where does the time go? Summer is almost over... our baby is 3 months old... school is back in session... it's nuts!
Time flies!!
