First Trip to Michigan

This will be a short week of posts as I will be heading up to Michigan on Wednesday or Thursday for the rest of the week. I'm excited to be taking Emma home to Michigan for the first time. It will be a bittersweet trip as this week also marks the 3 year mark since my Mom was home preparing for her journey to meet Jesus. I'm hoping to make it to her graveside while we are home. It will be strange facing, again, the reality that Mom will not be there when I bring my daughter home for the first time. BUT, life moves on....

Had a wonderful weekend with my husband and little Emma. Friday night we went to a local park and walked around just talking for a couple of hours. It was great! Then Saturday we ended up being lazy and just laying around since it rained most of the day. We picked up some pizza, watched some football and just chilled. It was awesome. Then on Sunday I played the keyboard in church so I had to be there early and Daddy & Emma came later. She came dressed correctly and fed and everything! I was quite impressed :) Then Chris's Dad and Chris's Aunt Cathy stopped by to say hi and Aunt Cathy met Emma for the first time. We went to dinner at my favorite place (Carrabba's!) and ended up with free dinner and dessert! Sweet! Then we came back to the house and said a quick goodbye and we left for church. It was the first night of AWANA and we had TEN cubbies!!! TEN!!! It was insane. But it was so much fun! Emma was in the nursery by herself for an hour and 1/2 (by herself, I mean without me). She did pretty good until the last 30 minutes. It was hard leaving her in there that long, though. I'm such a softie :)

Now, we are spending the next couple of days preparing for our big road trip with Aunt Stephanie to Michigan! :)
