10 Months

Better late than never, right?
Emma Sue is 10 months old! She has grown and changed a lot in this month. She is quickly turning into a fascinating little girl and taking giant steps away from babyhood. Her personality is very sweet, but she also has quite the temper at times!
So, here are some highlights and pictures from Emma's 10th month of life:
  • You have figured out how to pull yourself up to stand on pretty much everything now, with very little effort and great balance!
  • You learned to clap and now even clap at the appropriate times for the right reason (except when Mommy has to slap your hand, you think I am clapping with you and you start smiling and clapping)
  • You are talking constantly! You don't say any actual words but you talk gibberish almost all day long now. It is quite hilarious and ridiculously cute!
  • You figured out how to climb up on to the stairs, although you are not really sure what the big deal is so once you get on the first stair you just turn around and come back down
  • You began shaking your head no although I don't think you've quite figured out what it means yet
  • We began working on sign language and you pick it up quickly but the next day don't seem to remember it. We'll keep working on it!
  • You had your first sickness other than a cold. You had a high fever, vomiting and diarrhea for about a week. It was so sad! You took motrin and tylenol for the first time in your life and did just fine with it. You were super cuddly with Mommy and I will admit that I didn't mind that at all.
  • You decided to go on a food strike and stopped eating your jarred food. Just wanted to nurse for a week straight. It was really hard on my body but we got through it and you have made it clear you are ready for table foods!
  • You tried new foods: Cheese (you LOVE it), yogurt, frozen gogurt, spaghetti noodles (not a fan), and toast
  • You don't laugh very much but you are constantly smiling your big toothy grins!
  • Your hair is much longer!
  • We had your next check up with Dr. Tim and you weighed in at 18 pounds, 13 ounces. You dropped to the 45th percentile in weight! All of that crawling is burning more calories than we can get in you! When you were sick, you got down to 18 pounds, 3 ounces, so mommy is trying to beef you back up. I will not let those chunky thighs go without a fight! :)
  • You pooped in the potty for the first time!
  • You played with a balloon for the first time
  • Mommy bought you a rocking horse that you LOVE to play with
  • You met our friend Kimie for the first time and you loved her. She made you laugh!
